Sgt. Steven McEntyre, a firefighter with Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services, was recognized Tuesday at a retirement ceremony held in his honor at Fire Station #9 in North Canton. Fire Chief, Tim Prather, thanked McEntyre for his 20 years of service to the citizens of Cherokee County and presented him with a “bugle” award. McEntyre was promoted to Back-up Medcon on April 15th, 2013 and on March 24th, 2019, he was promoted to Medcon. McEntyre’s official retirement date was August 2nd. Sgt. McEntyre lives in Waleska with his wife, Karri, and their two children, Whitney, who is an ER nurse at Northside Hospital and Connor, who is a freshman at Reinhardt University. We wish Steven many happy years of retirement!
