Cherokee County Fire And Emergency Services: Truck Hauling Gravel Overturns On I-575 Connector

Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a single vehicle accident yesterday afternoon at the I-575 Connector just south of Nelson. Firefighters arrived on scene to find an 18-wheeler on its side.  When the call first came in, it was reported that the driver was entrapped.  The 57-year-old driver was able to get out of the truck and refused to be transported to a local hospital to be evaluated.  The truck was hauling gravel and resulted in one lane of traffic being blocked until the truck and gravel were removed. No other injuries were reported and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the accident at this time.
