Cherokee VIPER Unit Arrests 8
Traffic stops on Friday had a high return for the unit assigned to high-crime areas.
On Friday, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office VIPER Unit made 72 traffic stops and 64 business and community contacts in southern Cherokee County. They made eight arrests including one for DUI, three for traffic charges and four for outstanding warrants.
According to a sheriff's office release, the operation concentrated on serving outstanding warrants, traffic enforcement and community contacts through foot patrols.
