The City of Johns Creek City Council allocated $2,700,000 for resurfacing main and neighborhood roads.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The Johns Creek City Council has approved a $2.7 million road resurfacing project for 16 neighborhood streets and eight main roads around the community.

For resurfacing in 2019, the city council budgeted $3,151,026 in the road and right-of-way maintenance accrual, Construction Manager Alton Matthews said in a letter to the officials. The council allocated $2.7 million, $900,000 for main roads and $1.8 million for neighborhood roads.

At the March 25 council meeting, the city accepted Allied Paving’s bid in the amounts of nearly $760,000 for the main roads, and $1.9 million for neighborhood roads. The officials also approved a $98,000 task order with BM&K Construction and Engineering for construction, engineering and inspection services.

"Over the last four years, the city has resurfaced 12 main roads and 107 neighborhood roads," Matthews said. "In 2018, the city completed an updated pavement study. Each road was assigned a pavement quality index (PQI) score between zero and 100."
