2019 Budget Funds Police Body Cameras, 4th Fire Station
The Johns Creek City Council has adopted its $63.2 million budget for fiscal year 2019.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The Johns Creek City Council on Monday approved the $63.2 million budget for fiscal year 2019, which begins Oct. 1. The balanced budget adopted at the Sept. 24 meeting includes $42.1 million in General Fund expenditures for government services and $21 million in total for maintenance accruals, vehicle accruals, capital projects, city hall debt service and E-911 services.
Mayor Mike Bodker applauded Council members for their work on improving and finalizing the 2018 budget, which is a testament to the city's commitment of transparency, following through on promises, identifying the true costs of various services and moving ahead on much-needed stormwater projects.
“The fiscal 2019 budget ensures that the city will continue to provide the high-level, high-quality services desired by our residents," Bodker said. "The fiscal year 2019 budget forwards the City Council’s commitment to completing necessary infrastructure maintenance while allocating resources to forward community priorities.”

Planned expenditures forward leading levels of public safety include $2.6 million for construction of a
fourth fire station and $400,000 for police department body-worn cameras.

Investments in quality of life include $2.7 million in resurfacing, $1 million in new sidewalks, $1.25 million for sound abatement fencing and landscaping on the recently completed Abbotts Bridge Road construction project.
Additionally, the budget focuses on addressing stormwater and its impact on the community. The adopted budget includes a $250,000 stormwater system assessment and sets aside over $1 million towards future stormwater improvement projects anticipated to be identified and prioritized through the study.
