Chabad of North Fulton Receives $900,000 Matching Grant to Build State-of-the-Art Sports Complex
Summer camp facilities to open for the summer 2026 season

Alpharetta, GA — August 28, 2025
The transformational project will finally provide Camp Gan Israel with the outdoor athletic facilities it has long needed. Despite serving hundreds of children from diverse backgrounds each summer, the camp has operated without adequate sports fields—until now.
The new complex will be built on six acres of land adjacent to the Chabad of North Fulton’s main campus, bringing the total area to just over 10 acres. The sports complex will include a baseball field, soccer field, basketball court, pickleball court, go-kart track, and a new state-of-the-art playground.

These facilities are designed to foster active, inclusive, and engaging summer experiences for all campers.
“This is an incredible opportunity to dramatically enhance the camp experience and provide our children with the play areas they critically need and deserve,” said Rabbi Hirshy Minkowicz, Director of Chabad of North Fulton. “We are deeply grateful to our donor for this act of generosity and belief in our mission.”

Because the grant is a matching grant, every dollar raised by the community will be doubled, up to $900,000—bringing the $1.8 million needed to build out the complex. Chabad is now actively seeking community support to meet this goal and make the vision a reality.
Construction is scheduled to begin this month, with the new sports complex ready to welcome campers for the Summer 2026 season.
