Following his 1959 visit to India to study the teachings and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. King "observed Ghandhi’s embodiment of certain universal principles that are inherent in the moral structure of the universe, and these principles are as inescapable as the law of gravitation,” Dawood sites as this month’s topic inspiration.
With 2019 marking the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi: “If nonviolence is the law of our being, the future is with woman. Who can make a more effective appeal to the heart than woman?” Dawood sites from his passage in ‘To the Women of India (Young India, Oct. 4, 1930)’.
