Community Safety Day On Sept. 29 In Johns Creek

Firefighters and police will perform a variety of demonstrations for the public during this free event.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The city of Johns Creek is gearing up for its Community Safety Day set for Saturday, Sept. 29.

Hosted by the Johns Creek Police and Fire departments, attendees will be treated so several demonstrations from 9 a.m. to noon in the Home Depot and Target parking lots at 5950 State Bridge Road.

This free event also serves as a precursor to Fire Prevention Week, which runs Oct. 7-13 and helps heighten awareness about basic safety issues.

Firefighters and police officers perform a variety of rope rescue, motorcycle, K-9 and fire extinguisher demonstrations and SWAT exercises. You can also expect women’s safety demonstrations to show some of the many skills they use regularly.

Residents can ask questions of Johns Creek firefighters and police officers, and learn about city public safety vehicles and equipment. Informational handouts and safety checklists are available and the event features children's activities and food and drinks.
