Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:

  1. In nearby Alpharetta, Fulton County's north jail annex — which has been closed for the past two and a half years — is reopening on Nov. 9. According to District 1 Commissioner Liz Hausmann, the reopened jail annex will help tremendously with public safety efforts while relieving overcrowding issues in the Fulton County Jail. 2. The pre-fabricated concrete beams that form the trail underpass were put in place on Friday morning, Oct. 28, to create the main entrance to Cauley Creek Park. The park is one of five Strategic Initiatives set by the Johns Creek City Council. Click here to learn more and see the progress. (City of Johns Creek via Twitter)
  3. A beautiful yellow four-bedroom home is for sale on Paley Way in Johns Creek. View the link to see this and other homes on the market in your area. (Johns Creek Patch)

Patch deal of the day:

Good knives make all the difference in the kitchen, but you don’t need to overpay for them. Seido Japanese knives are made with strong high-carbon stainless steel (high-carbon knives are more durable and usually more expensive) and have an acute 15-degree angle for a noticeably sharper cutting face (most Western-style knives have edge angles of 25 degrees). For a limited time, Patch readers can get a 5-piece Seido Japanese master knife set for 71 percent off. At just under $70, this chef-quality set is perfect for any home cook and would also make a great gift for the holidays.
