Fulton Schools Outpace State On Accountability Scores

The school system saw a drop in the number of schools with 2018 CCRPI scores of 60 or below, from 17 in 2017 to 10 in 2018.

FULTON COUNTY, GA — The Georgia Department of Education on Monday released 2018 results for the College and Career Ready Performance Index that show Fulton County Schools’ score surpasses the state. Fulton earned an overall CCRPI district score of 81 for 2018, which is 4.4 points above the state’s score of 76.6.

Fulton’s scores exceeded the state at all levels, with the 2018 high school score of 82.2 showing the largest difference of nearly 7 points above the state’s score of 75.3. The elementary and middle school scores for Fulton were 80.6 and 80, respectively, compared to scores for the state of 77.8 and 76.2.

Also notable were the declining number of schools in Fulton with 2018 CCRPI scores below 60. The number of schools in Fulton with scores below 60 dropped from 17 in 2017 to 10 in 2018, excluding charter and non-traditional schools.

Schools with scores now above 60 are Asa G. Hilliard Elementary School, Brookview Elementary School, Camp Creek Middle School, Conley Hills Elementary School, Hapeville Elementary School, Heritage Elementary School, Oakley Elementary School, Palmetto Elementary School, Renaissance Middle School and Sandtown Middle School.

In all, 21 schools posted a score of 90 or above, with Abbotts Hill Elementary School, Barnwell Elementary School, Chattahoochee High School, Findley Oaks Elementary School, and Lake Windward Elementary School all earning scores above 95.

Schools with scores above 90 are Abbots Hill Elementary School, Alpharetta High School, Amana Academy School, Barnwell Elementary School, Cambridge High School, Chattahoochee High School, Crabapple Crossing Elementary School, Creek View Elementary School, Dolvin Elementary School, Findley Oaks Elementary School, Hopewell Middle School, Johns Creek High School, Lake Windward Elementary School, Milton High School, Northview High School, Northwestern Middle School, River Trail Middle School, Shakerag Elementary School, State Bridge Crossing Elementary School, Taylor Road Middle School and Webb Bridge Middle School.

CCRPI averages are calculated using results received by the school district throughout the year, such as state-mandated Georgia Milestones test scores and graduation rates. The 2018 CCRPI, which was redesigned last year, uses an updated calculation approved as part of Georgia’s state plan for the Every Student Succeeds Act, which replaced No Child Left Behind. Readers should note that scores for 2018 are not comparable to any prior year.
