Funeral For FBI Special Agent In Charge On June 1
The funeral service for David J. LeValley, who died May 26, will be held Friday at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church in Johns Creek.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The funeral service for the Special Agent In Charge for the FBI Atlanta Field Office will be held on Friday in Johns Creek.
The FBI has released arrangements for David James LeValley, who died Saturday, May 26 as a result of his work at the World Trade Center following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The viewing for LeValley will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 1 at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church in Johns Creek.
LeValley will be escorted by a Caisson Unit led by the Georgia State Patrol from Newtown Park in Johns Creek to Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church. He will be buried at Quantico National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.

LeValley has served as the Special Agent in Charge of the Atlanta Division since November 2016. He previously served as Special Agent in Charge of the Criminal and Cyber Division at the Washington Field Office. LeValley started as a special agent with the FBI in 1996 and was assigned to the New York Division.

He was "called to serve his country following the attacks" on the World Trade Center, and the FBI notes he spent several weeks "being exposed to many contaminants."
"Mr. LeValley’s death is a great loss to the entire FBI, but particularly to his family, the FBI Atlanta Division and the Atlanta community," the FBI said. "We are honored to have served beside him and are grateful for his leadership and sacrifice.
