GDOT Advises Public To Check Weekend Construction Schedule

The Georgia Department of Transportation continues to improve highway infrastructure throughout the metropolitan Atlanta and statewide.

GEORGIA — Weather permitting, the Georgia Department of Transportation continues to improve highway infrastructure throughout metropolitan Atlanta and statewide. As a result, work on construction and maintenance projects will continue this weekend.

In addition, with the convergence events happening in the downtown and midtown area beginning Friday and continuing throughout the weekend; motorists are advised to plan ahead, expect heavy delays and seek alternate routes.

Major projects of interest that will likely impact traffic includes various resurfacing projects and the Transform 285/400 project in Cobb and Fulton counties.

Georgia DOT construction partners will close various lanes on Ga. 400 northbound and southbound until Monday, July 15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.:

  • Tuesday, July 9, through Saturday, July 13, overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Two right lanes on Ga. 400 northbound from Hammond Drive (Exit 4C) to Abernathy Road (Exit 5).
  • Thursday, July 11, through Saturday, July 13, overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Three right lanes on Ga. 400 southbound from Abernathy Road (Exit 5) to Hammond Drive (Exit 4C).
  • Friday, July 12, through Monday, July 15, overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Two left lanes and two right lanes on Ga. 400 northbound from MARTA North Springs Station to Pitts Road.
  • Friday, July 12, through Monday, July 15, overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Two left lanes and two right lanes on Ga. 400 southbound from Pitts Road to MARTA North Springs Station.
