Here are the top three stories today in Johns Creek:

  1. For the fifth time, Gov. Brian Kemp has extended the gas tax suspension. Georgians will continue to save about 30 cents per gallon for regular and 33 cents per gallon for diesel. The gas tax will be suspended until Nov. 11. (WBS-TV Atlanta)
  2. During the Sep. 12 council meeting, Johns Creek Mayor John Bradberry, City Councilman Chris Coughlin, and Councilwoman Stacy Skinner spoke about the No Shame proclamation and promoted September as Mental Health and Suicide Awareness and Recovery Month. The City partnered with One Johns Creek Coalition to participate in the SAFE Project's No Shame campaign and will continue to raise awareness in the future. On Oct. 29, for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, the coalition will have an information booth and drug deactivation bags at the Kroger on State Bridge Road. (Appen Media)
  3. Brian and Maria Coles have a doormat that reads, "Please hide packages from husband," in front of the door at their Johns Creek home. An Amazon delivery driver saw the doormat and followed the unique instructions. He placed the package on a nearby bench and covered it with pillows.
