- The Johns Creek City Council adopted a new budget at the third and final public hearing on Sep. 12. The vote was unanimous on a spending plan which calls for $71.5 million in expenditures for the Fiscal Year 2023 budget – a 15 percent increase from the FY 2022 budget. (Appen Media)
- A newly formed Fulton County School District safety committee recommends Fulton County schools install Flock Safety cameras, which scan license plates and vehicle characteristics, for security purposes. The system alerts law enforcement if a "banned" license plate or a license plate that is in a criminal database is on campus. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney hopes all Fulton County schools, which include Johns Creek schools, have Flock Safety cameras by January. (11 Alive)
- The Johns Creek City Council approved a contract with Thomas and Hutton Engineering Company for $101,400 for the Barnwell Road at Niblick Drive Intersection Improvement project. The project includes striped medians and a left turn lane, which will help improve sight distance for drivers and reduce vehicle speeds. (Subscription: Atlantic Journal Constitution)
