Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:

  1. At the Sep. 26 Johns Creek City Council meeting, the council voted to defer the decision on Scooter's Coffee's application until the Jan. 23 Council meeting. The project requests a change to zoning conditions for a 664-square-foot Scooter's Coffee location at Medlock Bridge Road and State Bridge Road. The area is near Johns Creek's busiest intersection and is currently used for parking. The change would reduce the parking from 591 to 566 spaces. Johns Creek resident Nora Dowd and others are worried that fewer parking spots would cause more traffic in the already congested area. (Appen Media)
  2. Johns Creek High School students are benefiting from Fulton County Schools' landmark agreement with Auburn University, which allows all public high school students access to free or reduced-cost college classes. According to Fulton County Schools Chief Academic Officer Clifford Jones, 63 students representing 13 local high schools have enrolled in the program. Johns Creek High School is one of the top three schools with the most students enrolled. (Appen Media)
  3. The Johns Creek City Council recently recognized Tracey Grace, President and CEO of IBEX IT Business Experts. Grace, a Johns Creek resident, was named the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce Small Business Owner of the Year 2021. (City of Johns Creek via Twitter)
