- Johns Creek residents can now register for the city's Household Hazardous Waste Day event. The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Johns Creek City Hall, 11360 Lakefield Drive. Click here to complete the mandatory pre-registration. - Dr. J. David Prologo, an associate professor in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Services and director of Interventional Radiology Services at Emory Johns Creek Hospital in Johns Creek, was recently interviewed about a new non-surgical interventional radiology procedure that would "freeze" nerves to treat post-mastectomy pain in breast cancer survivors. He concluded mastectomy-related pain is "just the top of the iceberg … the ability to inject or freeze (pain generators) has created an explosion of potential applications." (Cure Today)
- Samiksha Gaherwar, 18, is the first Georgia student to win the Optimist International World Oratorical Championship.
