The Johns Creek fire and police departments perform several demonstrations as part of Community Safety Day on Saturday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Target and Home Depot parking lot, 5950 State Bridge Road, Johns Creek.
Community Safety Day, a precursor to Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 6-12), heightens awareness about basic safety issues.
Firefighters provide car-seat safety checks, and conduct blood pressure checks upon request. The Swift Water Rescue Team explains their equipment and techniques, while kids of all ages get an up-close look at fire and police vehicles.
The Johns Creek Police Department will perform a K-9 demonstration, SWAT demo, traffic & motorcycle demo, radKIDS demo and safety presentations.
