JOHNS CREEK, GA — The American Public Works Association Georgia Chapter recently bestowed the Transportation Project of the Year award to the City of Johns Creek Public Works Department for the Ga. 120/Abbotts Bridge Road widening from Jones Bridge Road to Parsons Road.
“We’re thrilled to receive American Public Works Association’s Project of the Year Award and the meaningful professional acknowledgment for city’s investments in the community,” said Lynette Baker, Johns Creek Public Works Director. "Through the completion of this project, the city demonstrated its commitment to our citizens, the environment, and to infrastructure improvements beneficial to future generations."
The Ga. 120/Abbotts Bridge Road (from Jones Bridge Road to Parsons Road) project added turn lanes, medians, sidewalks, and bike lanes. The project directly serves eleven neighborhoods and improves sight distances for drivers, pedestrians, joggers, and cyclists. Added turn lanes provide much-needed upgrades for those needing safe ingress and egress from neighborhoods as well as the traffic flow for commuters.
