Johns Creek Schedules Sept. 11 Commemoration Ceremony
The city's event will be held at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater at Newtown Park.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Residents are invited to attend a ceremony that will honor the first responders who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Johns Creek's Sept. 11 commemoration will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater at Newtown Park.
The event, which is free, will honor the service and sacrifices of first responders, and will include a narration of the timeline of events that unfolded immediately following the attack, from the perspective of those brave men and women.

Attendees can expect to hear remarks from Johns Creek Fire Chief Jeff Hogan and Police Chief Ed Densmore, and a musical performance by the Autrey Mill Middle School Choir.

Donations will be accepted for the Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation. The event is hosted in partnership with the Rotary Club of Johns Creek – North Fulton. The Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater is located inside Newtown Park at 31250 Old Alabama Road.
