Here are the top three stories today in Johns Creek:

  1. The 15 mayors of the Fulton County cities created the website "Save Fulton Cities" to educate taxpayers on the consequences of losing local option sales tax (LOST) revenue. If the county receives a larger share of the LOST revenue, then city emergency services, including fire, police, public works, parks and recreation departments, and more, would suffer. On Oct. 7, the county and cities will have the second mediation session. (CBS News)
  2. After an inmate was stabbed to death last month in the Fulton County Jail, the Sheriff of Fulton County, Patrick Labat, asked the Atlanta City Council to let the county overflow be sent to the nearly empty city jail. On Monday, Oct. 3, some Atlanta city councilmembers agreed with the Sheriff and others disagreed. No conclusion was made. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  3. Johns Creek City Council members agreed to support converting the 13,200-square-foot main building of the Cauley Creek water reclamation plant into a "robotics and/or STEM playground." The council will begin funding the planning process with $150,000. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
