Political Round Table On Nov. 3 In Johns Creek

The Politics of Politics: Step Up, Step Out, & Step Forward will be held 3-6 p.m. Saturday at the Johns Creek Event Center.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Johns Creek civic leader and entrepreneur Dr. Nazeera Dawood is inviting the community to attend the next installment of her Chai & Just Chat series.

The Politics of Politics: Step Up, Step Out, & Step Forward, a public round table forum, will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Johns Creek Event Center at 11455 Lakefield Drive.

The free event is open to the public and will begin with refreshments and a panelist networking session at 3 p.m. followed by moderated discussion and audience question-and-answer sessions. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions for what’s expected to provide an afternoon of robust dialogue on the eve of the Nov. 6 midterm elections.

The multi-partisan panel of metro Atlanta political leaders and influencers include:

  • Cindy Mills Jones, Forsyth County Commissioner, District 4
  • Michael Williams, Georgia State Senator, District 27
  • Emma I. Darnell, Fulton County Commissioner, District 6
  • Vince R. Williams, mayor, Union City.
  • Jan Selman, Womens Political Coach, Skirting Politics blogger and NewPowerPAC founder
  • Roger Wise Jr., political influencer, veterans advocate, ‘Mr. Facilitator’
  • Bobby Wolf Jr., attorney, Gwinnett County assistant district attorney and former Cobb County assistant solicitor general
  • Vathsan Ramprakash, Georgia Tech Student Government Association, Joint Vice President of Finance and Techniquereporter.
  • Cassandra Kirk, Chief Magistrate Judge, Fulton County.

“We want to encourage discussion on the increasing and decreasing disconnect between government and citizens,” Dawood said. “And we want to encourage strategies to improve participation in the political process: media influence on political and administrative processes, mistrust in the parties or the politicians, and the reasoning behind real or perceived lack of leadership in today’s political climate.”
