Here are the top 3 stories today in Johns Creek:

  1. The John's Creek Police Department will host a suicide prevention event tomorrow, Sep. 8, just three weeks after a local woman died by suicide. The event will feature panelists from the City of Johns Creek, the Summit Counseling Center, and Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Stop by Johns Creek Baptist Church from 6:30-8:00 p.m. to learn more about preventing suicide — the third-leading cause of death for Georgians between the ages of 10-34. (CBS 46)
  2. Fulton County is currently seeking to increase its share of Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) revenues, which could significantly impact annual budgets and millage rates in Johns Creek and surrounding communities. Mayors from across North Fulton will host a Town Hall to discuss the potential changes on Wednesday, Sep. 21, at Roswell City Hall at 7:00 p.m. Johns Creek residents are also encouraged to contact their commissioners to provide feedback on the LOST by calling (404) 612-8000. (City of Johns Creek, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  3. Roswell and Johns Creek have entered into an agreement for the TSPLOST II Nesbit Ferry Road project. The project will include intersection improvements, sidewalks, and the addition of a multi-use trail between Holcomb Bridge Road and Old Alabama Road. Johns Creek is expected to contribute $7.5 million to the project, with the total estimated cost of the project equalling roughly $8.5 million. (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
