- City government and local contractors are looking to improve traffic flow in Johns Creek using TSPLOST II funds and fiber-optic cables. Contractors Reedwick, in a $387,998 project from the TSPLOST II budget, will be installing fiber-optic cable on Old Alabama Road towards Jones Bridge Road in order to connect traffic lights in the area to a centralized, automated control system that will be helmed at a traffic control center located in city hall. - Police are seeking a man who is a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred in Fulton County on Jun. 10. The suspect, who was caught on camera, entered an Exxon gas station at 840 McDonough Boulevard with a handgun and stole several thousand dollars, according to the Atlanta Police Department. Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating the wanted man. (Atlanta News First)
- Nearby Stone Mountain's First United Methodist Church, or "The Village Church," a local institution going back 150 years, has made Reverend Doctor Cynthia Jackson its new pastor, per church spokeswoman Pat Sabatelle. Sabatelle has said that, across the United States, church attendance has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Sabatelle, Jackson, and other leaders at the Village Church are looking to bring locals, especially young people, back into the religious community. (News Break)
