2 Killed After SUV Rear-ends Utility Truck On I-75 In Kennesaw
The utility truck was resting on the shoulder of I-75 north, where the SUV crossed its lane of travel and hit the back of the truck.
KENNESAW, GA — Two people were killed Saturday after an SUV crashed into the back of a utility truck on Interstate 75 north at Chastain Road, Cobb County Police said Tuesday.
Police said a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling north when it crossed the lane and hit the rear of a semi-truck that with a 53-foot utility trailer that was sitting on the interstate's shoulder. The crash happened around 1:15 a.m. Saturday.
The vehicles came to a rest, still locked together, on the shoulder of I-75, police said.

The Freightliner driver was not injured. However, John M. Adams, 33, of Cartersville, was the driver of the Jeep and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cobb County Medical Examiner's Office, police said.
The Jeep's passenger, 36-year-old Jamie Nelke, was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where she died of her injuries Monday, police said.
