Cobb County School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Cobb County is July 31. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Cobb County School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 9/4: Labor Day (No school)
• 9/25-29: No School

October

• 10/12: Early Release Day
• 10/16-20: Elementary/Middle School Conference Week (Early release for elementary and middle schools only)

November

• 11/7: Election Day (No school)
• 11/20-24: Thanksgiving Recess (No school)

December

• 12/19 & 12/20: Early Release Day
• 12/21-29: Christmas Break (No school)

January

• 1/1: New Years Day (No school)
• 1/2 & 1/3: Student/Staff Holiday (No school)
• 1/15: MLK Day (No school)

February

• 2/19-23: No school

March

• 3/14: Early Release Day

April

• 4/2-6: No school

May

• 5/22 & 5/23: Early Release Days
• 5/23: Last Day of School
• 5/24 & 5/25: No School
• 5/28: Memorial Day (School closed)
