Kennesaw 2015 Election Guide

Find out who's on the ballot and where you need to go to vote on Tuesday.

Kennesaw voters will soon head to the polls to elect a new mayor and decide several important races for city council seats.

Election Day runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Kennesaw KE1A – Kennesaw United Methodist Church, 1801 Ben King Road
  • Kennesaw KE2A – Kennesaw Mountain HS, 1898 Kennesaw Due West Rd
  • Kennesaw KE3A — Kennesaw Community Center, 2749-2753 Watts Drive
  • Kennesaw KE4A — Kennesaw Elementary School, 3155 Jiles Road
  • Kennesaw KE5A – Legacy Park Clubhouse, 4201 Legacy Park Circle

The two people vying for the mayor’s office are former city councilwoman Debra Williams and Awtrey Middle School PTSA president and former Cobb County sheriff’s deputy Derek Easterling.

To replace Williams in Post 4, voters will choose between Jimmy Dickens, Bruce Jenkins, and John Whitmer. In Post 1, Steve Creason and Jim Eaton are vying to become the successor to Cris Eaton-Welsh. Post 2 incumbent Tim Killingsworth will try to fend of a challenge from Yvette M. A. Daniel.

Post 3 incumbent Leonard Church and Post 5 incumbent Jim Sebastian’s terms are not complete until 2017 and are therefore not on Tuesday’s ballot.

George Grumbein was planning to run against Killingsworth and Daniel but died on Sept. 21, 2015 at the age of 51.
