Kennesaw Salute to America Event Rescheduled for Aug. 3

The rescheduled celebration will include music, fireworks, inflatables, attractions and food.

The City of Kennesaw’s “Salute to America” concert and fireworks originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 3, was postponed due to weather.

The Salute to America, including a performance by Hollywood Nights, a New Jersey-based tribute to Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band, was being rescheduled for Saturday, Aug. 3.

The band will present a free concert at Depot Park starting at 7:30 p.m., which will include performances of classic hits such as “Old Time Rock and Roll” and “Against the Wind,” as well as well as lost gems like “Fortunate Son” and “Midnight Rider.”

The opening act will be 129 & Counting, an internationally renowned barbershop quartet, who will perform timeless classics of American patriotism beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. and will be visible from several locations throughout downtown Kennesaw. Premium seating near the main stage is available. A table with six chairs can be reserved for $75.

With the exception of reserved tables, all seating will be general admission. (Note: table rentals for July 3 will be honored for the rescheduled date; refunds will be available for those who cannot attend).

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a blanket or comfortable low-back chair. Caution tape, ground tarps and lawn blankets may not be used to designate seating areas prior to 5 p.m.

The main stage will be located in front of the Kennesaw Depot, 2828 Cherokee Street. A family entertainment stage featuring local dance ensembles and music performers will be located on Main Street near the pedestrian underpass.

Inflatables, attractions and food vending areas will be located along Main Street and Cherokee Street.
