Kennesaw Twins Born One Hour Apart, Two Different Years
Aubree Kaferly is last baby born at Northside Hospital-Cherokee in 2016; sister Asher is the first born there in 2017.
KENNESAW, GA -- Maricka Webster and Shawn Kaferly of Kennesaw had a very special New Year's: The couple welcomed twin girls at Northside Hospital-Cherokee in Canton.
What makes the bundles of joy even more special is that one was born in the final minutes of 2016 and the other in the first hour of 2017.
Aubree Rose Kaferly came out first, weighing 5 pounds, 7 ounces. She was born at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31. As the new year rang in, her sister Asher came along, weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces.

“We weren’t expecting a two-pound difference in the weight, so that’s likely one of the major reasons why it took so much longer for the second one because typically they deliver a little bit quicker,” said Dr. Crigler. “[Asher] just had to work his way down and he did, and everything went great.”
