KSU Grad Lands Pro Acting Job In Memphis
Danny Crowe of Marietta graduated Wednesday from KSU. He's lined up a gig as a professional actor in Memphis.

KENNESAW, GA -- Danny Crowe of Marietta dreamt of a life on stage since he was 4 or 5 years old. "I always knew I wanted to perform. One of my earliest memories is watching Freddie Mercury from Queen and Paul Stanley from KISS," he told Patch in a phone interview Wednesday. "I remember Paul Stanley shooting fireworks out of his guitar and everyone went crazy. I said I wanted to do that."
Crowe graduated from Kennesaw State University Wednesday and will exit stage left -- to Tennessee, where he's landed a professional acting job with Playhouse on the Square, a theater company.
"I signed a one-year long apprenticeship contract with the theater company and will be moving to Memphis and working in their season professionally for the next year," he said.

At KSU, Crowe said he acted in 13 productions, including starring in the lead role in "Spring Awakening" and "A Man Of No Importance."

The Kell High School graduate's road to fame began when he attended the Southeastern Theatre Conference, "and they really liked my audition." They called him back a second time and his encore, along with his experience as a director's assistant on a Broadway show this past winter, punched his ticket to the world of professional acting.

Crowe said what's really cool is that out of more than 4,000 people he and his friend Tad Cameron both got gigs. "It's really exciting, especially with one of my best friends," he said.
Crowe said he plans to move back to Atlanta one day "because I've established some really strong contacts here." As for his long-term goals? "I ultimately want to move to New York and perform in musical theater."
That's right, folks. Today, Memphis, but tomorrow, Broadway or the Opera!
