Insidious: Chapter 2" is rated PG-13 and runs 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Here's what the critics are saying:

It’s not scary so much as it is irritating and jarring. — Peter Suderman, The Washington Times
Here, they try to outdo what they did in “Insidious,” piling on plot twists borrowed from a host of other movies that, while in some cases are genuinely creepy, turn “Chapter 2” into a bustling, overly busy mess. — Michael O'Sullivan, The Washington Post

"Insidious 2" has a few memorable frights, a willing cast and a professional crew behind the camera. But even as it succeeds in the moment, it's hard to get around the fact that the sequel is entirely unnecessary. — Peter Hartlaub, My San Antonio.com

"Chapter 2" isn’t hideous, but it’s just not "Insidious." The narrative of the horror sequel, "Insidious: Chapter 2," after flashing back a generation or so, picks up where its creepy predecessor left off.  But it lacks the first outing’s capacity to disturb. — Bill Wine, CBS Local
