The North Cobb High girls and boys basketball teams are two games away from a state championship berth after weekend victories over the Rockdale County Lady Bulldogs and the Morrow Mustangs.
The girls team on Saturday dominated Rockdale County at home 70-37 to advance to the Elite 8 of the Georgia High School Association State Basketball Tournament for the third year in a row.
Once again, Kyrie Chandler was the leading scorer of the night with 17 points, according to northcobbbasketball.com.

In a tight matchup against Morrow, the boys walked away with an 80-76 victory. Leading scorer Lee Moore put up 24 of those points for the Warriors, who will make their second consecutive Elite 8 appearance this week.
Both teams will visit Tift County this Wednesday. The Lady Warriors will hit the court at 6 p.m. Tip-off for the boys is at 7:30 p.m.
