North Cobb Wins Way into Playoffs
Mount Paran Christian loses its region title game but still has a spot in the postseason.
knocked off cross-Kennesaw rival , 21-17, Friday night to earn a spot in the Georgia High School Association’s AAAAA state playoffs.
The Warriors (5-5, 4-3 in Region 4-AAAAA) stopped the Hoyas on three fourth-quarter possessions to preserve the road victory after a 21-7 halftime lead was cut to 21-17, the Marietta Daily Journal reported.
That win, combined with the previous week’s 21-16 win over , allowed North Cobb to grab the fourth seed from Region 4-AAAAA.

The Warriors will open the playoffs at Region 3-AAAAA champion Camden County, which is 10-0 and ranked No. 1 in the state in the PrepCountry.com/GACA coaches poll.
If the Warriors can pull off the upset more than 300 miles from Kennesaw in Kingsland, they’ll be much closer to home in Round 2, playing at either or .

Joining North Cobb in the postseason is , which lost at home to Bowdon, 15-7, Friday night in its bid to grab the Region 6A-A title.
The Eagles held a 7-6 lead in the fourth quarter before losing to end the regular season with a 7-3 record, 5-2 in the region, the MDJ reported.
Mount Paran is the fourth seed from 6-A and will start the GHSA’s A playoffs at Eagles Landing Christian Academy in McDonough. The Chargers (9-1, 6-0 in Region 5S-A) are the No. 1 seed in 5-A and have won nine consecutive games.
If Mount Paran wins, the next game will be at Emanuel County Institute (9-1) or Greenville (7-3).
