Oil Painting Instruction to Be Offered at Smith-Gilbert Gardens
The classes will run from May 14-17.

Contemporary landscape artist John Guernsey will be offering instruction in oil painting at Kennesaw’s Smith-Gilbert Gardens from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday-Friday, May 14-17. This class will give students an opportunity to learn the concepts and secrets of expressive landscape painting amidst the beautiful setting of the spring gardens.
Classes will include studio and outdoor painting time. The four consecutive morning sessions are divided into lecture, demonstration and one-on-one assistance so students will learn how to really ‘see’ and interpret the landscape. John will explain how to use painterly techniques to render beautiful impressionistic ‘plein air’ style paintings. This class is geared towards those who have some oil painting experience, up to the most advanced painters. The fee is $175.
