Older Kennesaw Residents Invited to Social
The KSU event will be held next Monday night.

Staff Report
The Cactus Moon Southwestern Social in Oct. 26 from 6-9 p.m. at KSU’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. A live band, a dinner buffet, dancing and prize drawings will all be featured.
Attendees will enjoy a Southwestern-style buffer dinner and dessert. Back by popular demand, Marietta’s Sock Hops Band will provide a special set of musical selections. The local band features the combined talents of Courtney Oliver, Ward Hiss, Scott Cruse and Jim Mitchell. They specialize in the four-part harmonies from the 50s, 60s, and 70s — from The Four Seasons to The Four Tops, from The Temptations to The Tokens.
There will be prizes for the best costume. Attendees will also have a chance to be featured on the OLLI Facebook page (Facebook.com/KSUOLLI). The cost is $10.
“We’re proud to offer these types of events that provide an opportunity for socializing,” said Meg Webber, OLLI program manager. “Those attending our socials will be able to make new friends and strengthen existing relationships while they engage in activities they love with others who share similar interests. Studies have shown staying active can enhance quality of life and add years to an expected lifespan.”
Housed in KSU’s College of Continuing and Professional Eduation, OLLI provides ample opportunities for lifelong learning. Art, history, photography, yoga and music are among the many OLLI offerings.
Registration for the social can be completed at ccpe.kennesaw.edu or by calling 470-578-6765.
