Body of Missing Sandy Springs Army Vet Found in Brookhaven
Randal Andrew Ackerman, who was recently honorably discharged from the army after a tour in Afghanistan, was found Thursday evening in his car by Georgia State Patrol.

by Brande Poulnot (Editor)The body of a missing 31-year-old Army Veteran and a graduate of South Forsyth High School was found around 6 p.m. Thursday in his car, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The car, a Ford Focus, was discovered by GSP who were called to investigate a traffic crash at Johnson Ferry Road and Mill Creek.
In a statement to Patch, when troopers arrived they found the car had left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and overturned. The exact day and time of the crash has not been determined at this time.
GSP is only investigating the crash.
A friend told 11 Alive News that Ackerman was last seen leaving Hangovers Bar in Buckhead around 2 a.m. He reportedly had been out after going to a Braves game Monday night.
A Facebook page, which was initially set up to help in the search for Ackerman, is now filled with messages of his death.

by Hunt Archbold (Editor)The Atlanta police has issued a missing person report for a Sandy Springs man who was last seen leaving a Buckhead bar early Tuesday morning.
Randal Andrew Ackerman, who was recently honorably discharged from the army after a tour in Afghanistan, was last seen departing Hangovers, located at 3182 Roswell Road, around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
The 31-year-old was wearing a red shirt, khaki shorts and flips and driving a silver 2012 Ford Focus with an Alaska tag number of GKN254. He is described as standing 5-foot-10, weighing 170 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.
