Weekender: Salute to America, Run for Wounded Heroes, Movies
This weekend get out to "Bridesmaids" and "Jaws" at the Strand Theatre; fireworks, food, music, inflatables and attractions at the Kennesaw Salute to America; and the 4th annual Run for Wounded Heroes.

Kennesaw Salute to America Rescheduled
The City of Kennesaw’s “Salute to America” concert and fireworks originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 3, was postponed due to weather. The rescheduled celebration will include music, fireworks, inflatables, attractions and food.The Salute to America was rescheduled for Saturday, Aug. 3.
Run for Wounded Warriors
The 4th annual Run for Wounded Heroes, which benefits the Wounded Warrior Project, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 3.There will be 1-mile fun run at 7:30 a.m. and 5K race at 8 a.m. The fun run will start in front of Kennesaw First Baptist Church, continue north on Main Street to the designated turnaround point and end in front of Eaton Chiropractic in downtown Kennesaw.

Marietta Movie in the Park
A Movie in the Park is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 2 at Laurel Park, 151 Manning Rd., Marietta. The featured film will be "The Croods."Admission is free. Kids activities begin at 6 p.m. and the movie will start shortly after dark.
"Bridesmaids" at the Strand Theatre
Put together Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph of SNL, Chris O’Dowd from the IT Crowd, and a host of world class comediennes and you get Bridesmaids, a snort-your-drink-out-your-nose comedy about how competition between the maid of honor and a bridesmaid over who is the bride's best friend.
The movie will play at the Strand Theatre on Aug. 2 at 8 p.m.
"Jaws" at the Strand Theatre
