1 Dead, 1 Charged With Murder In Gwinnett Shooting

The Gwinnett shooting at a sports bar killed an Atlanta man, who police have identified.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A Dacula man is facing murder charges in connection with the shooting death of an Atlanta man at a Lawrenceville bar, Gwinnett County Police said.

Police said the fatal shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at a sports bar in the 800 block of Dogwood Road.

A 911 caller advised dispatch that they were taking the victim, who police identified as 21-year-old Jeffrey Gibson, to a hospital with a gunshot injury, police said. Gibson later died of his injuries at the hospital, they added.

When officers arrived at the scene, police said they found shell casings in the bar's front parking lot and near a nail salon.

Police said they arrested Marcus Robinson, 26, at the scene in connection with the deadly shooting.

Robinson was arrested on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said. He was being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Jail, police said.

A motive in the shooting was not released.
