Alcohol Factored Into Deadly Head-On Lawrenceville Crash: Police
A driver was accused of crossing lanes and hitting another vehicle, killing a person and injuring several others, in Lawrenceville.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Alcohol contributed to a two-vehicle crash that killed a driver and injured others Wednesday at Buford Drive near Hurricane Shoals Road, Lawrenceville Police said Thursday.
The fatal crash happened around 6 p.m. Police said an unidentified vehicle heading north on Buford crossed into the southbound lanes and hit head-on a Nissan Rogue.
The driver of the Rogue died at the scene, and several others in the at-fault vehicle were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The person who was killed was not identified, pending next-of-kin notification.

The Lawrenceville Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit is overseeing the probe into the crash. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call (770) 670-5135 or email investigators.
