Arrest Warrant Issued for Lawrenceville Arson Suspect
Gwinnett Fire authorities said the suspect knew the owner of the home he allegedly set on fire.

Gwinnett County Fire investigators are looking for the man they believe is responsible for a weekend arson fire in the the Lawrenceville area.
The Sunday fire caused significant damage to a home on Amelia Garden Way.
Clifford David Malone, 65, who has not been apprehended, faces one count of first-degree arson, Gwinnett Fire said in a Monday afternoon news release. Malone, a Lawrenceville resident, is acquainted with the homeowner.

Authorities say Malone is the same man who fire investigators spoke with during a traffic stop shortly after the fire. Malone is not currently in custody and authorities say an arrest is forthcoming.
Fire investigators are not releasing specific info on motive or how the fire was started. Additional charges are possible.

Gwinnett Fire Lt. Jerrod Barrett said in a weekend news release that police responded to a suspicious person call at the residence shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, when officers found the house on fire.
