Arson Fire Reported at Lawrenceville Home

The fire was reported early Sunday morning on Amelia Garden Way.

Gwinnett authorities are investigating an arson fire reportedΒ early Sunday morning in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett Fire Lt. Jerrod Barrett said police responded to a suspicious person call at 227 Amelia Garden Way shortly before 1 a.m. when officers found the house on fire.

β€œFirefighters arrived on the scene to find a one story ranch style home with heavy fire involvement on the front right corner. Crews quickly deployed fire attack hose lines to combat the blaze in an offensive mode with rescue as top priority. Once crews entered the structure they were met with intense fire conditions however firefighters were able to extinguish the fire while rescuing a canine from the structure (dog is said to be in great condition). Crews searched the home for any potential victims fortunately no one was in the structure.” -- from Gwinnett Fire

The fire was under control at 1:23 a.m. The house sustained major damage.
