County Applies for Funding to Fix Cruse Road, More Than 40 Other County Roads
If approved, Gwinnett County will resurface nearly four dozen roads.

Gwinnett County applied for funding on TuesdayΒ to help them pay to resurface roads throughout the county.
The $4.47 millionΒ Local Maintenance and Improvement GrantΒ from the state Department of Transportation will cover just about three-quarters of the cost for the road work. The rest of theΒ $1.6 million needed would come from 2009 SPLOST funds.Β
βThis work includes more than four dozen different roads that are in need of resurfacing," saidΒ Gwinnett Transportation Director Kim Conroy in a release.
The list of resurfacing projects includesΒ 3.3 miles of Cruse Road, 2.4 miles of Oak Road, 3.4 miles of Killian Hill Road,Β 1.8 miles of Hamilton Mill Parkway andΒ 2.4 miles of Fence Road.
If the grant isΒ approved, the county would begin accepting bids on the projects in spring of 2014.
