LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — The motive in the killing of a 60-year-old man, whose home was found to have feces on its floor, was money-related, Fox 5 Atlanta reported, citing police.

A Gwinnett County Police report stated officers encountered a "strong odor" coming from the home of Robert Terry, who was found dead at his Lawrenceville home, the news outlet reported.

Officers saw debris and feces on Terry's floor through a window, Fox 5 reported. In a laundry room, a "decayed human foot" was located under a tarp, the news outlet reported.

Police said Friday that officers conducted a welfare check on Oct. 29 at Terry's Mount Vernon Drive home after several weeks had passed since anyone had heard from him.

An autopsy was performed on Terry the next day, and his death was ruled a homicide, police said. The manner of death is unknown.

Sometime after Terry was located, police said his car was seen on traffic cameras traveling around Gwinnett County.

Furthermore, police said funds from Terry's bank accounts disappeared and several important documents were missing from his home.

Video footage showed Marquis Green, 27, of Auburn, withdrawing thousands of dollars from Terry's bank accounts and driving in Terry's car, police said.

Green was arrested Thursday at a Duluth restaurant and charged on suspicion of felony murder, robbery by intimidation, aggravated assault, financial transaction card fraud, concealing the death of another, identity theft, computer forgery, theft by taking and aggravated cruelty to animals, police said.

He was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail, police said. Jail records showed he is being held on a $32,350 bond for some charges. He was denied bond for the murder, aggravated assault and other charges, jail records showed Friday.
