LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Gwinnett County schools are shifting to a digital learning day as Georgia hunkers down for a widespread winter storm that may be a menace to the East Coast.

School officials did not say if staff members would need to report to work but added a state of emergency may change the school system's current status, closing all schools and offices.

Gov. Brian Kemp on Thursday issued a state of emergency that will expire on Tuesday.
