Last night, the Gwinnett Women's Chamber of Commerce (GWC) marked a significant milestone with its inaugural Awards & Gala, celebrating a year since its founding by the visionary duo, Audrey Bell-Kearney and Georgette Taylor. The event was more than just an anniversary celebration; it was a heartfelt tribute to the extraordinary women who embody the essence and goals of the GWC. The gala was a testament to the chamber's commitment to sustainability, a green affair in every sense.

The evening was charged with emotion as nine of the eleven exceptional women were honored with the Soaring Woman Award, each a shining example of leadership, compassion, and innovation. Among the honorees were Pastor Barbara Green, who received the prestigious 2024 Do Gooder Award for her unwavering dedication to aiding those in disaster-stricken areas. Dr. Jean Hudley also received the Do Gooder Award for her commitment to nurturing youth through Boys2Men, Girls To Win.

Bridget Hayes was awarded the 2024 Healing Hands Award for her holistic approach to healing as a massage therapist and life strategist. Eboni Caldwell was celebrated with the 2024 Spirit Award, and Victoria Walker was recognized with the She Leads Tech Award for her impact on the tech industry. Catherine Hardrick's excellence in communication earned her the Behind The Mic Award.

The ceremony also underscored the importance of collaboration and partnership in fostering economic growth and innovation. Shantell Wilson was named the 2024 Economic Development Partner of the Year, while Nashlee Young and Atlanta Tech Park were honored as the Corporate Partner of the Year. Dr. Teresa Carthron was acknowledged as the 2024 Chairwoman of the Year for her leadership and contributions.

The gala also marked the launch of the GWC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the GWC Green Footprint Initiative, promoting sustainable living and business practices. This initiative includes educational forums and support for elderly residents to transition to LED lighting, reducing both their carbon footprint and electric bills.
