Meanwhile, those fortunate enough to escape the immediate violence find themselves grappling with an increasingly desperate struggle for survival. Some of them have sought refuge in neighboring town describing a dire situation where multiple families shared a tent, lacking essential resources such as shelter, food, and other necessities. This plight of individuals underscores the human toll of the conflict, forcing many to confront not only the war of cannons but also the war of starvation. The scale of displacement is staggering, with the U.N. Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA) reporting that 1.9 million people, constituting 85 percent of Gaza's population, have been displaced. UNRWA's shelters, designed to provide refuge and support, find themselves overwhelmed, operating at four times their intended capacity.

In response to the ongoing situation, U.S. President Joe Biden engaged in separate phone conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jordan's King Abdullah.
