Police said it was believed that Williams was heading to Gwinnett.
Officers used intel and Flock cameras to locate a black SUV believed to belong to Williams, police said. They found the SUV at Sugarloaf Parkway and North Brown Road, police said.
The SUV was leaving a business when an officer tried to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, police said. Then, Williams was accused of crossing all traffic lanes and recklessly driving in what police said was an attempt to flee the officers.
The police chase ensued, which was captured on body camera footage released Thursday by police.
Police said Williams approached the Sugarloaf-Duluth Highway intersection as officers waited for him. He was turning right onto Duluth when an officer tried a PIT maneuver to stop the chase, police said.
The angle of the vehicles caused the officer's patrol car to hit Williams' driver's side, which forced him to lose control and stop, police said.
The body camera footage, spanning 2 minutes and 30 seconds, appears to show the SUV being lifted off of its side by the patrol car's impact before landing on the roadway. Officers are then seen instructing the man police identified as Williams to exit the SUV before arresting him.

After being checked for injuries at a local hospital, police said he was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail and was charged on suspicion of driving without a seatbelt, felony fleeing to elude a police officer, unsafe lane change, obstruction of an officer, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, driving over a gore, speeding and following too closely.
