LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- A woman who posed as a police officer to avoid paying her $750 salon bill and get a free makeover, has been arrested.

Evelin Vasquez, 25, has been charged with impersonating a public office or employee and misdemeanor theft of services for lying to Salon De Belliza De Miriam at 6065 S. Norcross Tucker Road, in Norcross, according to police.

According to police a report, Vasquez told the salon she was an officer, lived nearby and would come back later to pay. Vasquez reportedly showed the salon employees a video from YouTube featuring Lilburn Police and told employees that her husband was an officer as well.

Police and the salon owner went to Vasquez's apartment where, according to a police report, she came to the door with handcuffs tucked in her belt and threw them to the floor when she saw an officer.

The owner of the salon told police that she believes Vasquez was insisting she was a police officer as a way to intimidate her employees because the majority of the Hispanic population in Norcross are afraid of the police.

The owner told police, according to the report, that Vasquez also did this at another salon down the street.
