Car Sparks Fire At Lilburn Recycling Center

LILBURN, GA — There were no injuries after an accidental fire at an Arcado Road recycling center Tuesday afternoon, Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services said.

The fire happened around 12:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Arcado. Workers had been moving a car when it burst into flames, fire officials said.

When crews arrived to the center, they saw a large pile of metal debris on fire. Officials said it took about an hour to extinguish the fire.

Arcado was closed from Cedar Road to Lilburn Industrial Way, prompting fire officials to notify Gwinnett County Public Schools of the road closure regarding student drop-offs.
