2 More Running in Grayson City Council Race

Both Linda Jenkins and Laura Gavulic qualified to run for Post 4, which is currently held by Councilwoman Katie Mitchell.

On the last day of qualifying Wednesday (Aug. 28), two more citizens qualified to run for Grayson City Council in the November general election.

Linda Jenkins and Laura Gavulic have entered the race to run against one another for Post 4, which is currently held by Councilwoman Katie Mitchell.

Jenkins served on the council from 1977 to 1982 and is a retired school teacher from Gwinnett County Schools. She also finished this year from Gwinnett Senior Leadership at Gwinnett Tech.

Gavulic, who works in Human Resources for the Southern Company, joined the city's Planning and Zoning Commission in March, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.

On Monday (Aug. 26), 12-year Councilwoman Allison Wilkerson officially entered the race to run for the mayor's seat. Current Mayor Jim Hinkle has announced that he will not be seeking re-election.

Local resident Trenton Arnold qualified Tuesday (Aug. 27) to run for Post 2, Wilkerson's current seat on the council. He and Wilkerson are running unopposed.
