Five Finalists For 2012 AJC Peachtree Road Race T-Shirt Design Released

The Atlanta Track Club has released the five finalists in the 2012 AJC Peachtree Road Race T-Shirt Design contest. The winning design will be revealed at the July 4 event. The finalists, three students from the University of West Georgia and two local graphic designers, were chosen by a panel of judges representing the Atlanta Track Club, the Atlanta Journal Constitution and some local graphic artists.


“The T-shirt design contest has become a tradition for the AJC Peachtree Road Race and is something that spectators and runners look forward to every year,” Tracey Russell, executive director of the Atlanta Track Club, said in a press release.  “We were amazed by the number of talented artists that submitted designs this year and can’t wait to find out the one the public chooses as the winner!”
 
The finalists are:
 

  1. Mallory Royal - a recent Graduate of the University of West Georgia’s photography program
  2. Caitlyn Weathers - a photography student at the University of West Georgia
  3.  Rachel Campbell - a graphic designer and founder of branding and creative design firm, Logos Atlanta.
  4. Clarissa Robinson - a graphic design student at the University of West Georgia
  5. Jared Swafford - graphic Designer

 
Voting for the 2012 AJC Peachtree Road Race T-shirt design is open until April 30, 2012 at ajc.com/peachtree. The winning design, to be revealed July 4, will be featured on 60,000 AJC Peachtree Road Race T-shirts and the artist will receive $1,000. Each of the four runner-ups will receive $100. This system has been used to choose the design for the Peachtree Road Race T-shirt since 1995. The winning entry in 2011 was Jessica Ferguson, a West Georgia College student.
